Day 8: A Place You've Traveled To...

...and where else you want to travel to.

Most of my vacations are spent in Deltaville.
If I have a free weekend and some gas money, I'm going south.

I mean really, who wouldn't want to go here?
There have been other trips like out to Trout Lake, Washington to spend 4 days in a field at the UFO Ranch (yes, I said UFO ranch).
It was great waking up and seeing Mount Adams right there outside the tent.
(Not to mention all the "interesting" people)
And I took a trip out to the West Coast

But honestly, at the end of the day, there's no place I'd rather go to relax than the Tidewater region of VA.

Why would you want to go anywhere else?

Mathews: Fancier Than You Think

When I was a kid, the town of Mathews always seemed like some distant place.  One that I rarely went to.  In fact, it was usually only mentioned in phrases like, "I'm going over Mathews way to get some crab bait."  Yes, that's right, it was equated in my mind with dead smelly fish.

Imagine my surprise when I make it over to Mathews as an adult and find it's actually quite fancy.
Seriously, how many Dollar General stores have you seen with a giant Heron fountain in front of it?

WINE-ONE-ONE!

Today I am headed south to Deltaville for some much needed R&R.  While there I plan on heading over to Chesapeake Bay Woman's place for a shindig that will include several other Blisters (blog+sister) from the area and maybe if we're lucky, some from out of town.

I am certain there will be some of this:
(great food)

Some of this:
(because Chockit-shakes are sort of on the way to CBW's house
if I drive past her house then turn around and go back to her house)

Some of this:
(people in crab hats though not in the water because I like CBW and wouldn't want her to get hypothermia)

Some of this:

(great friends and people running around saying things like "O-M-G!" and "Oh HELL yeah!")

and a whole lotta this:

See y'all Monday once I've returned and recovered.
(with hopefully lots of new photos and blog post ideas)
