The Plowed Field

This is what we've always referred to as the plowed field.

A piece of property our family owns located behind where our house sits.

I can't say why it's called the plowed field.
It's never been plowed in all the years I've been on this earth.
Heck, some years it's barely mowed.

I imagine it was a field that was plowed and planted back when the property was still a working farm.
You know, back during the time of the War of Northern Aggression.
That's the Civil War for you Yanks.
(you can read about my harrowing skunk escape in this very field here)

  1. They still talk about that War of Northern Aggression in these parts. Big time.

Wonder what they grew in that field?
