The honeysuckle is in bloom in Deltaville.
I knows it's kind of an invasive vine that takes over everything
but it smells so good.
I remember as kids we would ride our bikes over by
Aunt Naomi's house where she had some overgrown woods
and we'd eat the nectar till someone broke out in hives from eating too much nectar
our hearts' content.
Our bikes laying on the ground like metal fossils
and we kids croutched down sucking honeysuckles as if it was the only food
we had had in weeks.
Those were the days.

  1. Honeysuckle always brings back fond memories of hot summer nights on the bicycle with not a care in the world. (Except the mosquitoes.)
