Monday Meditation

One joy scatters a hundred griefs.
~Chinese Proverb

Who would possibly believe that the act of throwing rocks in a creek could be so
completely fulfilling?
Apparently the 4 and 5 year olds in the photo.
Sometimes the simplest things bring the most joy.

  1. I believe its all about the splash .. just as pots and pans are more fun than a Tinker Toy and an empty box more intriguing than what came in it...

  2. Mine used to love it, throwing stones and rocks in the creek - hours of entertainment.

I think it is a true sign of character to be able to find happiness and enjoyment in those simple things. It might *also* be a sign that you're a true character if you still find such enjoyment in your old age, that's why they invented places like Mathews, for all us quirky types to hide out.

    Come on down!

  3. Ah. I know the simplicity of it. Used to kick rocks down the road for hours. :-)
